International Day 2015

Snow machine Ride for Grand River

Date: Saturday, March 14, 2015
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Grand Riverkeepers Labrador & Friends of Grand River/Mistashipu hosted a Snowmobile Ride for the Grand River in honour of International Day of Action for Rivers 2015.

13 people and 7 snowmobiles made there way to Mudlake via the Grand River for a boil up and celebration of the river. We shared and had great conversation about the importance of rivers, the Muskrat Falls megadam project upstream, and why rivers in Labrador must be protected!

Laughs and memories were shared as we enjoyed a large Labrador day with great food and wonderful company! Big thank you to everyone who came out and for the delicious food you brought! We so appreciate that you shared your day with us!!

The Muskrat Falls megadam threatens all Labradorians, but it is particularly harmful to the livelihood, wellbeing, and even the lives of the Indigenous peoples of Labrador – the Innu, Inuit and Metis.  For more information, reports and articles, refer to the Links page on this website.
