This year's theme: "Protect Rivers, Protect People"
Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM
Join us at noon on Sunday, March 15th for our annual Boil Up & Ice Fishing Event as Grand Riverkeeper Labrador recognizes the International Day of Action for Rivers with our friends and colleagues at International Rivers.
Find us on the Terrington Basin by taking the road to the Sea Plane Dock that’s off Route 520 to North West River. You can also join us there by snowmobile by taking any trail that leads to the basin.
We are partnering with long-time activist and ice-fisherman, Edward Mesher for this celebration of our river and the bounty it provides!

More about International Day of Action for Rivers
Excerpt from associated website: www.internationalrivers.org/
Every year, thousands of people around the world lift their voices to celebrate the world’s rivers and those who struggle to protect them. The International Day of Action for Rivers is a day to celebrate victories such as dam removal and river restoration. It is a day to take to the streets, demonstrate and demand improvements in the policies and practices of decision makers. It is a day to educate one another about the threats facing our rivers, and learn about better water and energy solutions. Above all, it is a day to unite – by acting together, we demonstrate that these issues are not merely local, but global in scope.
